State-run Indian Bank jumped 14.03% to Rs 150 and it topped gainers in BSE's A group shares. On Friday, 24 August 2007, Ooty-based Good Shepherd College of Hotel Management tied-up with the bank to offer educational loans of up to 17 lakh for students who wish to pursure further studies abroad.

Mangalore-based Corporation Bank moved up 10.28% to Rs 322.45. It was the second biggest gainer in A group. On 20 August 2007, the bank said it would raise Rs 200 crore through bonds to meet capital requirements. The bank had in February 2007 got mandate from its board for raising Rs 500 crore through bonds in one or more tranches. Following which, the bank raised Rs 300 crore in March this year.

Titan Industries, a joint venture between the Tata Group and Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation, flared up 9.13% to Rs 1154.75. It was third biggest gainer in A group.

HTMT Global Solutions, the BPO arm of the Hinduja Group, shot up 8.63% to Rs 357 and came fourth among top gainers in A group. As per recent reports, company is looking four buyouts in the range of Rs 80-400 crore.

Infrastructure conglomerate Jaiprakash Associates jumped 7.92% to Rs 907.85. It was the fifth biggest gainer in A group.
