Chennai-based Ramco group firm Ramco Systems soared 10% to Rs 167.65 and it topped gainers in the BSE's A group shares.
Mumbai-based IT firm Rolta India moved up 7.72% to Rs 517.55. It was the second biggest gainer in A group.
India's largest listed airline in terms of revenue Jet Airways jumped 7.04% to Rs 905.10. It came third among top gainers in A group. Recent reports suggest that the liquidity crunch in global markets following the crisis in the US sub-prime mortgage business has prompted Jet Airways to postpone its $400 million rights issue to finance the airline's aircraft acquisition by two or three months. The rights issue was earlier scheduled on October 2007.
Public sector undertaking Dredging Corporation of India flared up 6.85% to Rs 600.20. It was the fourth biggest gainer in A group. Its net profit rose 62.2% to Rs 53.92 crore on 83.9% increase in sales to Rs 194.20 crore in Q1 June 2007 over Q1 June 2006.
India's largest composite textile manufacturer Bombay Dyeing rose 4.54% to Rs 610.80 and came fifth among top gainers in A group. Today (7 September 2007), the company said it would raise over Rs 119 crore through the issue of convertible warrants to Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation (BBTCL), a promoter group company.
