IT major Satyam Computer Services on Friday posted a 8.06 per cent rise in its net profit at Rs 389.14 crore for the quarter ended June 2007, compared to Rs 360.09 crore in the year-ago period.

Total income of the company moved up 24.61 per cent to Rs 1,820.93 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 1,461.24 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago, Satyam informed the BSE.

The group's profit after tax stood at Rs 378.32 crore for the April-June quarter, against Rs 354.12 crore a year ago. Total income increased to Rs 1,893.39 crore in the period from Rs 1,517.41 crore last year. Shares of Satyam Computers were trading at Rs 479, down 1.57 per cent on BSE.
