Siemens likely to double India business by 2010German engineering giant Siemens plans to double the size of Indian operations in the next three years, riding on strong demand for infrastructure, medical and communication services. Siemens' key businesses, including industrial automation and drives, industrial solutions and services and power hopes to maintain the growth momentum. Exports, which were zero a few years ago, now contribute about 35% to the company's turnover. We see continuing export growth, as the company expands its outsourcing activities and strikes partnerships with other Siemens subsidiaries in other regions. The company has 17 manufacturing plants and 15 companies under its fold. The areas like public transport, power, infrastructure and healthcare would provide the company the needed impetus to grow two-fold in three years. Going forward the company would also be looking at the nuclear energy sector.
